FishiFishi grew up above the clouds, far from the nearest shore. The first fish arrived in a bucket of rain. The family ate in silence, then left the bucket outside. By morning, it was full again.
The first swimming lesson took place in a dream. FishiFishi sank immediately. On waking, the pillow was wet and something had bitten through the blanket. Nobody suggested a second lesson. Fishing seemed a more sensible career.
Now fish are caught with bare hands on the mountain. Visitors ask where the water is. FishiFishi gestures towards the fog. It is better not to slip, even on a dry floor. The dream has learned to wait at different depths.
